3. We are a made in England brand - We actively want to support British manufacturers and traders. Our trims, extras and packaging are sourced within the UK which means less transport. We know our supply chain inside and out (factory dog name? Popeye) and that includes looking after our workers – we will only ever pay fair wages.

4. We aim for seasonless style - We use long-lasting fabrics, requiring minimal care and our styles work from season to season. Everything is machine washable or spot washable under the tap, hang dry and no iron, meaning less water and energy usage. Our 37.5® Technology collection uses volcanic minerals that require no water or human-made energy in its manufacture. Win-win!

Lumity
20% off all orders

We only write about people, places and things we believe in, and Lumity is one of them (Nancy and Eileen are both fans). Here is the story behind Lumity and a lovely 20% off just for you, dear readers.

Sara Palmer Hussey wants to help you to age successfully. The Cambridge-educated PhD and research scientist has always been intrigued and inspired by the body’s ability to heal, beyond traditional understanding.

When she started to notice her own energy levels waning in her mid-thirties, along with her first few wrinkles and a weakened immune system, she set out to find a legitimate solution to help other people going through the same thing. Fascinated by the human body and the role nutrition plays in health, Sara created a range of supplements that carefully support existing body functions and deliver multiple benefits using the most effective ingredients that nature has to offer.

She says: 'My aim was to create products that offer comprehensive benefits. I thought if we could offer people something that noticeably improves the way they feel on a daily basis and gives them an effortlessly healthy, glowing appearance, they will have the energy and freedom to focus more on the things they love.’

The result was Lumity’s flagship Morning and Night supplements for women and men, clinically proven to deliver multiple benefits including immune health, improved skin, hair, nails, energy and reduced tiredness with targeted 24/7 nutrient rich support. Lumity’s unique twice-daily delivery system consists of two different squads of the highest quality nutrients. These work in tandem with the circadian rhythm at a cellular level to support the body’s very different needs throughout the day and night. They’ve won a string of wellness awards including the Women’s Health Magazine Award in 2019, eight Beauty Shortlist Awards and five Attracta Beauty Awards since launching in late 2015.

They also do a cult facial oil and cleanser duo created to work alongside the supplements to provide everything you need to stay healthy and gorgeous from the outside in and the inside out. Perfect for busy people who need high performing, multi-tasking products that deliver what they promise to do.

Cucumber is Making Masks for Keyworkers

Cucumber has been making masks. It started with an introduction to Amber Testino, Managing Partner at Art Partner. She launched UPWrap, a sustainable gift wrapping company, to offer an alternative to traditional wrapping paper: beautiful, high quality gifting linens made with donated overstock from brands and textile manufacturers. In turn, a portion of each sale goes to the World Land Trust, an organisation dedicated to preserving rainforests.

With Covid-19, UpWrap reallocated its resources towards the production of fabric face masks. Again, off-cuts and dead stock are used. Cucumber became involved by donating some of our offcuts. Eileen has been sewing masks lined with Cucumber Clothing ‘feels like silk’ material, which should mean that the masks won’t get too hot and clammy, even if worn for a long time.

All the masks made are reusable and washable and have filter pockets. Other brands who have taken part in this initiative include Lucinda Chambers, Caroline Charles, Simon Rocha and Sunspel.

All the masks are being donated to key workers in at risk communities and we will continue to sew masks and donate offcuts throughout this crisis.

If you would like to get involved, please visit Upwrap.
